iGEM IIT Kharagpur

iGEM IIT Kharagpur is the contingent from IIT Kharagpur that participates in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition organized by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA.

The team made its maiden participation in iGEM 2015 during September.[1][2] The project was sponsored by Dean of Alumni Affairs and SRIC, along with partial support from from ABT, Department of Biotechnology.

2016[edit | edit source]

The expanded this year to include a couple of students from other departments as well. The project idea was awarded a research and travel funding from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India towards its participation in 2016.

2015[edit | edit source]

The team consists of 17 undergraduates from the Department of Biotechnology under the supervision of Dr. Agneyo Ganguly.[3] An official team introduction video can be found on YouTube.
