The metakgp wiki is an open repository of community knowledge about IIT Kharagpur that anyone can edit. We hang out on Slack, come by and say hi.

Infrastructure

The metakgp wiki is running on a single Digital Ocean droplet with 1 GB RAM, a 30 GB SSD, and a single CPU.

Metakgp was started by Vivek Aithal and Vikrant Varma at IIT Kharagpur in 2014. After a period of inactivity, it was revived in 2015 with the help of Harsh Gupta and Vivek Rai.

29th April 2015: Vikrant met Harsh, Sanyam and Vivek Rai at CCD and discussed the idea of a wiki for IIT-KGP, which he and his roommate Vivek Aithal started last year. Vikrant set up a mediawiki instance on digital ocean.
May-June 2015: metaKGP was met by generous contributions by Vivek Rai, Kumar Abhishek and Harsh Gupta. Though everybody was busy with their intern so we couldn't get a lot done.
28th June 2015: we got the metakgp.org domain
August 2015: we launched metaKGP to the public through shares on our facebook wall.
8th September 2015: we launched our facebook page
13th September 2015: we launched mfqp a tool for searching question papers on the library's previous year question papers website.
16th September 2015: we started publishing (gymkhana) constitution fun facts on our facebook page.
11 Feb 2016: Shashank Saraf generously agreed to let us use the metakgp Google Group name; it was previously used for "Metallurgy and Materials Science- IIT Kharagpur, 2006".
