This page is about when to add a verification reference, and what it means when something is marked as verified.

A verification reference is used when some information has been personally verified by the author, and he takes responsibility for the accuracy of the information at the time it was written. Wherever possible, try to use citations instead of verification. A verified reference is preferred over information that has neither citations, nor verification; in that case it must be marked as unverified.

If some information is marked as verified, it should have a date and an author associated with it. The information is likely to be increasingly inaccurate as time passes. It is best to manually verify very old information (and then update the wiki if possible, for the benefit of others).

Only registered wiki users should add verification references.

Usage[edit source]

Both the username and date parameters are required. The page must contain a <references /> tag somewhere.
