A faculty advisor is a professor assigned to students of a department (obsessionally different for 4-yr B.Tech and 5-yr Dual degree students). A Faculty advisor acts as a guardian for students assigned to them. They function as a gateway between the student community and the faculty community. Some of the roles a FacAd (Faculty Advisor) plays are:
- The faculty advisor approves the student registration at the start of each semester.
- Conducting the B.Tech project assignment.
- Keep a tab on academically weak students.
- Assisting students in choosing an appropriate area of interest.
